Estate once possessed by the Lanza barons, who as legend has it once possessed the tip of the spear that pierced the side of Jesus Christ as he was crucified; the original villa and cellar built in 1858 in Contrada Pietramarina, one of Etna’s oldest viticultural areas on the north slope. Today, Gaetano Arrigo’s farm consists of a single vineyard of Nerello Mascalese surrounded by olive and fruit orchards. Biodiversity and additional hours of sunlight at the site make the Arrigo Nerello worth finding.
