About

Founded 2010. Named for Theresa Eccher, a tempestuous matriarch whose granddaughter Daniela Corma says she spoke of the family’s winemaking estate in Trentino’s Non Valley, where the tradition had faded. Daniela’s husband Andrea Panozzo, a seasoned journalist, was enamored with Mount Etna. When Daniela expressed her desire to reignite the family wine business in the image of her grandmother, Etna was the region of choice. In 2011 the project launched with a Nerello Mascalese from a single vineyard on Etna’s northern flank between Solicchiata and Castiglione di Sicilia. Portfolio: supple Etna Bianco with 30% Catarratto; easy-drinking Etna Rosato in the tradition of a pistamutta; young-vine Etna Rosso with 20% Nerello Cappuccio; old-vine Nerello Mascalese with 2% Nerello Cappuccio found among the gnarled alberelli. 6 hectares in Contrada Pontale Palino. Vine training: alberello and cordon. Produces 35,000 bottles annually. No visit services offered. Wines to try: Alizee Etna Bianco, Ariel Etna Rosato, Altero Etna Rosso.
