Founded by Kevin Harvey, a California-based winemaker whose focus on Mount Etna began after a 2001 tasting of Benanti’s Pietra Marina Carricante. He purchased a vineyard in the hills above Milo on the volcano’s eastern slope dedicated exclusively to Carricante, and a second vineyard in Montelaguardia on the north slope dedicated to three biotypes of Nerello Mascalese. Harvey also planted a vineyard at Centennial Mountain, California, with cuttings of Carricante and Nerello.
