Founded by Sonia Spadaro (trained sommelier) and Riccardo Mulone, whose family moved to Etna from Enna in the 1950s and began experimenting with their own grapes in the 1980s. From the spent volcanic crater Monte Ilice on the southeast slope, the estate makes a single-vineyard Etna Rosso from prephylloxera and old-vine Nerello. Relic varieties discovered among the Nerello while working with the previous owner Don Alfio are now being propagated.
