About
Etna project founded 2016 by Davide Rosso. The company’s original wines were launched from Nebbiolo vineyards in Serralunga d’Alba, Piedmont; Etna is the company’s second terroir. Located in Contrada Montedolce, formed by the eruption of Monte Dolce, an extinct parasitic volcano on Etna’s north slope. The eruption spread molten basalt with high iron concentrations west of Solicchiata. Broad terraces roll out from Monte Dolce with varying oxidized iron, ripiddu, lapilli, and volcanic sands. Davide approaches the estate with the sensibility of farmers rather than academia. 6.5 hectares in Contrada Montedolce; vine training: alberello and cordon. Produces 20,000 bottles annually. Visits by request: vineyard tour, winery tour, wine tasting. Small groups (<15). Family and pet friendly. Languages: Italian, English. Wines to try: Etna Bianco, Etna Rosso.
