Mirella Buscemi shifted from pharmacology to wine, having grown up in southeast Sicily where her family made wine regularly, and was introduced to Mount Etna through her spouse Alberto Aiello Graci. A small old-vine alberello vineyard once part of the Ducea di Nelson completed her conversion, with Nerello spiced with Alicante (Etna’s version of Grenache Noir) and Carricante supported by Grecanico.
