About

Founded 2001 by Rosario Puglia in Contrada Arrigo, in the hills above Linguaglossa along SP59. The high part of Contrada Arrigo emerges from a forest where early pioneers cut timber for homes, wine presses, vineyard posts, and ship builders along the Ionian coastline. Over subsequent centuries the forest receded as lava flows exposed the terrain. Puglia recognized the potential of the east-facing property and replaced trees and brambles with cordon-trained vines. Seven years after purchasing, farm and winery were reorganized for modern practices producing quality wines from Sicilian and international grapes. Must raised in stainless steel and large botti and tonneaux. Also: +39 336-235290. 40 hectares in Contrada Arrigo; vine training: alberello. Produces 350,000 bottles annually. Visits by request: winery tour, wine tasting, lunch, dinner. Small (<15) and large (15+) groups. Wi-Fi, family and pet friendly. Languages: Italian, English. Wines to try: Respiro Etna Bianco, Grappoli di Notte Etna Rosso.
