Estate traces origins to Carmine Trefiletti, who planted vineyards around Castiglione on the north flank after his family briefly emigrated to America in the early nineteenth century and returned to Sicily. Wines were shipped annually from the Port of Riposto to locations around the Mediterranean. The winery is continued today by Rocco Trefiletti.
