Founded by Giovanni Raiti, with winemaker Pietro di Giovanni, in Contrada Lavina above Linguaglossa; spontaneous vegetation is allowed to grow between vines instead of seeding nitrogen-fixing plants, keeping the vineyard slightly cooler for a later but healthier flowering. The name Quantico evokes quantum measurements in physics — even the smallest changes can influence the result. By slowing and adjusting the process year to year, the wines developed a profile that suggests they were guided rather than made.
