About
Founded 2008 by Giovanni Raiti, with winemaker Pietro di Giovanni. Located in Contrada Lavina, a fertile area in the hills above Linguaglossa. Allows spontaneous vegetation to grow between vines instead of seeding nitrogen-fixing plants, eliminating the need to till in March or April and keeping the vineyard slightly cooler for a later but healthier flowering. Vineyard certified organic after a period of testing different floor management approaches to balance vegetation and fruit, reduce hydric stress, and improve harvest quality. The name Quantico evokes quantum measurements in physics — even the smallest changes can influence the result. By slowing and adjusting the process year to year, the wines developed a profile that suggests they were guided rather than made.
