About
Founded 2010 by Giuseppe and Valeria Scirto, both from multigenerational winemaking families. All work done by hand; no chemical herbicides or fertilizers. Vineyard in Feudo di Mezzo treated as a home: wild greens, asparagus, fennel, and flowers occur spontaneously among fruit, nut, and olive trees to encourage biodiversity. Giuseppe began bottling under the family name in 2010 — modest production, high quality. Range evolved to include a savory Carricante blend with extended skin contact, a succulent Etna Rosato, and Nerello blends from old vines being restored since 2018. Boutique winery in the heart of Passopisciaro completed restoration before the 2016 vintage. 5 hectares across three contrade: Feudo di Mezzo-Porcaria, Feudo, and Santa Caterina-Pisano. Vine training: alberello and cordon. Produces 15,000 bottles annually. Visits by request: vineyard tour, wine tasting, lunch, dinner. Small groups (<15). Family and pet friendly. Languages: Italian, English, Spanish. Wines to try: Don Pippinu Carricante blend, All'Antica Etna Rosato, A'Culonna Etna Rosso.
