About
Founded 1978. The Costantino family began working in Contrada Blandano in the 1970s; wine has been made on the site dating back to the seventeenth century. Early production was carried out entirely in the palmento by hand, with wine sold by the liter from the cellar door. A portion of production is still sold this way. A modern subterranean winery was completed in time for the 2015 harvest. Nerello, Carricante, and indigenous Sicilian varieties are grown maritato — black and white grapes side by side — using certified organic practices. Grapes are harvested separately despite being grown together. Fabio Costantino leads the estate today. 10 hectares in Contrada Blandano; vine training: alberello and cordon.
