Founded by Francesco Nicosia, who opened a shop in Trecastagni to sell wine from select sites among the southeast craters; the family carried on the tradition for five generations, expanding to Catania and Vittoria. At the end of the twentieth century the business underwent major renovation including construction of a modern winery and vineyard improvements at Monte Gorna. Today Carmelo Nicosia works alongside sons Francesco and Graziano, with winemaker Maria Carella.
