Founded by Dr. Giuseppe Benanti, a pharmacist, using Carricante, Nerello, and other indigenous varieties, with twin sons Salvino and Antonio joining two decades later. The team completed a decade-long study of indigenous Etna yeasts for use in production and identified and planted sites for small-batch productions focused exclusively on Etna. The estate is based in Viagrande at the base of Monte Serra.
