About
Founded 2010 by Concetto Bosco and partner Sofia. At Vigne Vico, prephylloxera Nerello vines pour down into a pool of alberelli across undulating terraces, hemmed in by two lava flows — 1566 and 1879 — and planted in a cascade of decomposed lava from two earlier epochs. Vines are on their own roots or propagated through propaggine (layering) and selections of cuttings. Concetto and Sofia bought the four-hectare Vigne Vico farm from the Vico family in 2012; grapes produce a single cru named for the vineyard. New winery built into the hillside in long slabs of basalt, with a top deck overlooking the northern valley and a modern cantina below. 10 hectares across two contrade: Santo Spirito and Piano dei Daini. Vine training: alberello and cordon. Produces 50,000 bottles annually. Visits by request: vineyard tour, wine tasting. Small groups (<15). Family and pet friendly. Languages: Italian, English, Spanish. Wines to try: Piano dei Daini Etna Bianco, Piano dei Daini Etna Rosso, Vigne Vico Etna Rosso, Brut Metodo Classico.
