About
Founded 2006 by Paolo Caciorgna. Acquired 4,000 prephylloxera vines in the embrace of the 1646 lava flow in Contrada Marchesa in a handshake deal. After more than 150 years, the heavy trunks and contorted alberelli arms have found smart, casual postures. NAnticchia is an elegant and commanding DOC Etna Rosso from these vines. Guardoilvento is a youthful Nerello expression from Santo Spirito and Bocca d’Orzo. Paolo has also made wine in Tuscany for decades at Tenute delle Macchie and as a consultant for internationally celebrated wine projects. 2.5 hectares across three contrade: Marchesa, Santo Spirito, and Bocca d’Orzo. Vine training: alberello and alberello in cordon. Produces 25,000 bottles annually. No visit services offered. Wines to try: Ciaurla Etna Rosso, Guardoilvento Etna Rosso, NAnticchia Etna Rosso.
