Founded 2005 by Giacinto and Pina Romeo. The surnames Romeo and Leone were found on the keystone over the door of the palmento when the original 12-acre (5 ha) property was purchased in 2004. In 2006 they began developing the property with terraces planted to Catarratto, Carricante, and Nerello Mascalese. As vines began producing, the family restored the buildings, roads, and walkways with the goal of opening the estate to visitors. First wines made from the 2010 vintage. Giacinto and Pina’s son Salvo helps manage the estate today. Property features views of the eastern flank of the volcano and the Ionian Sea.
