About
Founded 2012 as an unnamed project of the Parasiliti family. Began in a rolling vineyard of gnarly old vines in Contrada Crasa, between Solicchiata and the medieval town of Castiglione di Sicilia. First vintage required converting a garage into a small winery while farming, harvesting, and managing fermentations simultaneously. Family works as a unit — Esser ci (eh-sare-chee: to be there) is the estate motto. Wines produced without any additives using only fresh grapes, concrete tanks, and large wood vats. Additional small vineyards in Contrade Barbabecchi, Calderara, and Rivaggi plus a new winery have expanded the portfolio of Nerello blends. Single Carricante made from high-elevation vineyard in Contrada Pirao. Led by Rori Parasiliti.
