Planeta’s Etna project began in Contrada Sciara Nuova high above Passopisciaro; winemaker Patricia Toth led development, originally inspired by Carricante before turning to Nerello. Every harvest requires maniacal three-stage selection: in the vineyard, during harvest, and again when grapes arrive at the winery. A small corner of the property is dedicated to experimental varieties: Riesling, Pinot Nero, and Furmint.
