Founded by Salvatore Zumbo, who planted and trained five hectares of vines at 750 meters AMSL in Contrada Santo Spirito, four years after the Etna DOC was legalized. Today, his granddaughters Erica and Ramona Zumbo produce three wines from traditional Sicilian varieties and Etna DOC standards. Terre Siciliane white Pinea claims Inzolia on the label but includes Carricante and Catarratto in the blend. Terre Siciliane Rosato Ciuriciuri and Etna Rosso Andico are made from 100% Nerello Mascalese. Erica and Ramona recently opened a tasting room between Rovittello and Solicchiata. Wines to try: Pinea Terre Siciliane Bianco, Ciuriciuri Terre Siciliane Rosato, Andico Etna Rosso.
