The winery and cooperative formerly known as Torrepalino was so revered that — even after closing at the end of the 1980s — its signs still stand along SS120; Patria keeps the old signs up. An exposed wall in the cellar reveals two lava flows meeting, one over the top of the other. Beyond its own vineyards, the estate buys grapes from local farmers and makes tanks, aging rooms, and bottling line available to new producers getting started; Bernardo Di Miceli leads the estate.
