About
Founded 2005. The old cantina and blending house stands beside the Passopisciaro Circumetnea station; the back yard opened to the track for loading barili, botticelli, and sacks directly from the cellar for transport to Riposto. Run today by Giuseppe Russo, a classically trained pianist who returned to Etna after a family emergency following years of study and work abroad. Two years after returning, he was retraining the vineyards with a focus on quality wine. Early adopter of the theory that elevation is as important as soil consistency. White wines blend Coda di Volpe, Grecanico, Minella, and Inzolia alongside Carricante. Reds are all Nerello. Single-vineyard Etna Rossi from Feudo, San Lorenzo, and Feudo di Mezzo are planted in Mongibello and Ellittico soils. Also: +39 338-483-7359. 18 hectares across four contrade: Feudo di Mezzo, Feudo, San Lorenzo, and Calderara Sottana. Vine training: alberello, Guyot, and cordon. Produces 75,000 bottles annually.
