Founded 1989 by Dr. Salvatore Messina, who purchased the property in Contrada Monte Gorna. The estate rests on a small plateau of the spent volcanic crater Monte Gorna, with the property climbing the southeast slope to its summit at 850 meters. Terraces and plantings have been on a continuous procession up the crater toward an old palmento. Estate includes new plantings of Carricante alongside established vines. Giovanni Messina, Dr. Salvatore’s son, leads the estate today with his wife Laura. 3.5 hectares in Contrada Monte Gorna; vine training: alberello and cordon. Produces 6,000 bottles annually. Visits by request: vineyard tour, palmento tour, wine tasting, lunch, dinner. Small (<15) and large (15+) groups. Wi-Fi, family and pet friendly. Languages: Italian, English, Spanish.
