The Patane-Di Maio family grows prephylloxera Carricante in Contrada Rinazzo, comune of Milo, and for years their grapes found their way into some of the most celebrated Etna Bianco Superiores ever produced. From the 2018 vintage the family changed course to produce their own Etna Bianco Superiore called Affiu (Alfio), from the grapes they have grown for generations. A second vineyard in the higher Contrada Caselle adds to the blend.
