Founded 1997. Francesco Cambria bought old hazelnut orchards (nucidde) from half a dozen families in 1961, immediately clearing the trees and preparing the soil for grapevines. For guidance the family consulted Tuscan winemaker Roberto Cipresso and Leonardo Valenti, professor of Agriculture at the University of Milan. Along with Nerello and Carricante, the family planted Cabernet, Merlot, Viognier, Inzolia, Syrah, and Mondeuse. Located between Passopisciaro and the Alcantara River. Offers more than a dozen blends and monovarietal bottlings of indigenous and international varieties. Tours: +39 391-393-9073. 64 hectares across five contrade: Cottanera, Zottorinoto, Calderara, Diciassette Salme, and Feudo di Mezzo. Vine training: alberello, Guyot, and cordon. Produces 300,000 bottles annually. Visits by request: vineyard tour, winery tour, wine tasting, lunch, dinner. Small (<15) and large (15+) groups. Event space, Wi-Fi, family and pet friendly.
