Floriana and Pasquale produce wines from old alberelli in Contrada Pietralunga, downslope from the spent volcanic crater Monte Ilice on the southeast flank. Monte Ilice has a history of interplanting relic varieties — Bracau, Grecanico, Minella, Zu Matteo — alongside Nerello, Carricante, and Catarratto, lending a refreshing zest to the wines. A second old-vine vineyard sits high above the village of Poggiofelice.
