Founded in the early 1900s, with Massimiliano Calabretta — professor of electrical power systems at the University of Genoa — and his father Massimo establishing a bottling facility in 1997 from the family’s vineyard holdings. Father and son have progressively adopted more intimate and less invasive strategies as they studied the vines and how treatments and containers affect the wines over time. The portfolio includes the only pure Minella Bianca produced on the mountain, a Pinot Nero from eight different clones, and a pure Nerello Cappuccio.
