About

Founded 1965. The Camarda family vineyard has been cared for and passed down for at least four generations. Gaetano Camarda tends the vines daily. Located in Contrada Feudo di Mezzo, with alberelli hemmed in by the 1566 and 1879 lava flows to east and west. Own-rooted Nerello planted in the nineteenth century is still used to perpetuate the vineyard. A new Carricante vineyard has been planted in Contrada Sciara Nuova. White wine blends Carricante, Inzolia, Minella Bianca, and Catarratto. No yeasts or additives used in production. Only modernizations: anaerobic vinification and elevage for Nerello Mascalese in neutral barriques. Vines worked organically by hand for more than 150 years. 2 hectares across Contrade Feudo di Mezzo, Porcaria, and Sciara Nuova; vine training: alberello and cordon. Produces 8,500 bottles annually. No visit services offered. Wines to try: Bianco, Nerello Mascalese.
