The Camarda family vineyard has been cared for and passed down for at least four generations, with Gaetano Camarda tending the vines daily in Contrada Feudo di Mezzo, hemmed in by the 1566 and 1879 lava flows. Own-rooted Nerello planted in the nineteenth century is still used to perpetuate the vineyard, and no yeasts or additives are used in production. Vines have been worked organically by hand for more than 150 years.
