About

Founded 2013 by Alberto Cusumano after visiting Mount Etna on multiple occasions over eight years. Acquired a terraced vineyard above Passopisciaro above the 1879 lava flow in Contrada Guardiola, plus additional vineyards on the north slope, in February 2013. First harvest carried out with equipment transported from Palermo; initial vinification performed outside the winery due to space constraints. The 2013 vintage was challenging due to cold, rainy conditions and electrical outages. In 2014, an eco-conscious, subterranean, gravity-operated winery was built on the estate. 18 hectares across six contrade: Guardiola, Feudo di Mezzo, Pietramarina, Verzella, Solicchiata, and Arrigo. Vine training: alberello and cordon. Produces 50,000 bottles annually. Visits by request: vineyard tour, winery tour, palmento tour, wine tasting. Small groups (<15). Wi-Fi, family and pet friendly. Languages: Italian, English. Wines to try: Etna Bianco, Feudo di Mezzo Etna Rosso, Guardiola Etna Rosso.
