About
Founded 1986. Located in Contrada Presa, Mascali, operated under the Tenute Orestiadi brand. The estate features organized terraces of Carricante, Catarratto, and Nerello Mascalese. Steep terraces of Moscato vines descend seventy meters, forming an amphitheater with a pond at the bottom. Each autumn, Moscato Bianco bunches are laid in broad, shallow boxes to raisin in the sun for a sweet wine. The pond was reconceived after drying up during a period of abandonment in the twentieth century. A small house on the property has been restored for visitors. 15 hectares in Contrada Presa; vine training: alberello and cordon. Produces 30,000 bottles annually. Visits Wednesday to Sunday on request: vineyard tour, winery tour, wine tasting, lunch, dinner. Groups welcome. Event space, overnight accommodations, family and pet friendly. Languages: Italian, English. Wines to try: Etna Bianco, Etna Rosso, Metodo Classico Rose, Moscato Passito.
