The Biondi family had made wine for centuries with much sold in bulk, until Ciro Biondi and his wife and partner Stephanie began clearing and replanting the family vineyards in Contrada Ronzini. Over the following decade the project underwent tough vintages and changing enologists while continuing vineyard revitalization. The family vineyard Chianta was planted in 1860, maintained with terraces and vines trained against vertical chestnut stakes.
