Bruno Ferrara Sardo’s family has farmed the north slope for generations; the single vineyard in Contrada Allegracore produces a single Etna Rosso called ‘nzemmula, meaning ‘together’ — a wine made not by numbers but through the sounds of work in the vineyard. As a child Bruno studied his grandfather’s movements and listened to the rhythms of the laborers; wine was always sold in sfuso. When Sardo opted to bottle, those sounds and memories guided his first vintages.
